La Luz HubBridging Albuquerque’s agricultural North Valley and industrial I-25 corridors, this former convenience store lot blossoms into an indoor-outdoor community café and craft retail hub. Responding to the language of the Owner’s traveling refreshment business, slatted wood walls and glowing marquee signage define the branded atmosphere for La Luz Coffee. An added second level provides additional seating with framed views stretching south to the downtown skyline, while an eleveated east deck opens to the Sandia Mountains. Overhead garage doors link the interior environments to an outdoor side yard shaded by trees, tensile fabric and and quonset hut pavilions. The regional material language of the North Valley spills out from the interior spaces—disassembled wooden palettes transform into picnic tables, and corrugated stock-tanks become raised planter beds. |
