Escuela del Sol / Harwood Art Center - Framework for Growth
in collaboration with Sam Sterling Architecture

​This programming and architectural vision was created in a side-by-side process by 200 children aged 2 to 12, architects, artists, educators and engineers. Among its historic buildings and forest, this team playfully interspersed a 50% floor area increase using residential-scale art and teaching spaces. Educational areas for learning and collaboration are also nestled around the building and throughout the site. Balancing the historic Harwood Building, the plan is unified with an elevated connecting Ellipse, an east-west Boardwalk, and water and energy harvesting systems. Campoverde has completed the Jr. High School Classroom Building and the Harwood Historic Building Window Replacement projects (for late 2022 construction).
