Escalante AdditionThe owners wanted to complement, but not copy the character of their existing hipped roof brick ranch house with an addition that doubled the size of the existing master suite. We tested more than 10 different floor plan arrangements before arriving at a best approach - then tuned the room size proportions several times over the course of the project. With natural light pouring in from skylights and new windows, the new space is perfectly balanced between spaciousness and coziness. Resulting from concentrated studies in form and material compatibility, this addition expands the house into its rear yard, creating multiple outdoor rooms in a single stroke. |
