Brew Lab 101No Science, No Beer. Drawing inspiration from the owner’s Lab is an invitation into the chemistry and practices of the brewing process. Converted from a shoe store in a strip mall, the space opens horizontally and vertically through the removal of all possible opaque surfaces. The ceiling extends up to 14’ exposing the workings of structure and HVAC. A glazed view from the taproom space to the working brewery connects the process with the product. The furnishings and hardware echo the purposefulness of science classroom lab tables and liquid handling devices. An edge-to-edge mural/chalk wall anchors the space, providing an educational backdrop to the social atmosphere. |
